Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar and Pepper


  • 16 oz. fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or just to taste


1. Put strawberries in a bowl. Pour vinegar over strawberries, and sprinkle with sugar. Stir to combine.

2. Cover, and let sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour not more than 4 hours.

3. Before serving, grind fresh pepper over berries. Great over ice cream or gelato.
