- 3 large tomatoes, cut 1/4 inch thick slices
- 1 pound of fresh mozzarella, cut 1/4 inch thick slices
- 20-30 fresh basil leaves
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Coarse salt and pepper
- Balsamic vinegar (optional)
1. On a large plate layer, alternate slices of tomatoes and mozzarella, adding a basil leaf between each layer.
2. Finish by drizzling with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
3. If desired, drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
